Welcome to 2018. We’re starting as we threatened to, with the publication of Retail Island, Christopher Nosnibor’s first longform work of fiction in five years.

Eight years on from his last ‘29 Days of February’ project, Christopher Nosnibor is celebrating the leap year with a limited-run publication, and Clinicality Press are proud to be involved.
As Chris writes in his blog, ‘With the 29 Days of February concept, the number of units in circulation is determined by the market, meaning that while it can’t ‘sell out’ in the first three days, if only six copies sell in the 29 days the product is available, then only six copies will exist – ever.’
This year’s ‘29 Days’ project will be published as a back-to-back A5 saddle-stitched pamphlet priced at £3.50 and an ebook priced at $1.99. We have our reasons for using different outlets for the two formats, but links to both are at the bottom of this post.
Something Must Break / Dream of the Flood will be available from midnight GMT. At Midnight on 29th February, Something Must Break / Before the Flood will be deleted and will not be republished.

Clinicality have been keeping a low profile of late, but that doesn’t mean we’ve not been hatching plans for new publications. The silence of recent months won’t last! Coming in the next couple of months, we have a paperback edition of Karl Van Cleave’s spectacularly brutal collection of short stories, Incisions, Collisions and Aborted Missions.
It will be followed by a collaborative work by Van Cleave and Stuart Bateman, which will be a limited, print-only multimedia headfuck.
Finally, we’re also planning to publish Christopher Nosnibor’s previously unseen novel Exiled In Domestic Life.

Clinicality Press are elated to announce that Karl van Cleave’s collection of short stories, entitled Incisions, Collisions and Aborted Missions will be published as an e-book via Amazon Kindle and Smashwords on 28th February 2012.
Van Cleave made his Clinicality debut in the Clinical, Brutal… anthology in 2012 and has since featured in the Clinicality blogzine. Incisions… contains 6 short and brutal stories and is Karl’s premiere solo publication. Written in blood with no detail too unpleasant, Karl’s writing is not for those with a delicate disposition.

We’re proud to announce that our first publication of 2013 will be a collection of short stories by Karl van Cleave entitled Incisions, Collisions and Aborted Missions. It’s clinical and exceptionally brutal and we love it.
Karl contributed a brace of cut-up poems to our landmark Clinical, Brutal… anthology in 2010 and has also had writing featured in the Clinicality Press online.
Ahead of the book’s release, we’ll be putting a couple of the stories out as free e-books via Smashwords, with distribution to other channels / formats including Apple iPad/iBooks, Nook and Kindle. The first of these, ‘Blades’, is available as of now and can be downloaded for free from HERE.
September was a busy month: James Well’s novel Hack was simultaneously published via Smashwords and as an Amazon Kindle edition, which is available for £2.88 from the .co.uk site, $4.48 in the US, and roughly equivalent prices in different currencies across the other Global Amazon sites. Free samples are available, with the most comprehensive – the first 15% – and in a range of formats being available from Smashwords.
Christopher Nosnibor conducted an in-depth interview with James, which can be found on his blog.
We’ve also just launched Kindle editions of Clinical, Brutal… An Anthology of Writing With Guts and Bill Thunder’s brutally hard-boiled detective novel, The Bastardizer. These now join Christopher Nosnibor’s furiously experimental anti-novel THE PLAGIARIST, and further titles will be added shortly.

Two weeks to go until From Destinations Set gets its full unveiling as a mass-market paperback, and the first review is in. Author Leeza Coleman got stuck in and unravelled the layers of the plot and the physicality of the text and found the book to be ‘a revelation.’ Read the full review here.

Things have been pretty busy at Clinicality Press lately. What with promoting the January sale and ensuring that our next book, Christopher Nosnibor’s From Destinations Set is set to go, as well as writing press releases that we’ll be starting to circulate soon, we’ve had precious little time for much else. For this reason, our Clinical, Brutal blogzine, launched in September, has been taking something of a back seat lately, and we haven’t posted any new fiction in a while. That’s all set to change in a few weeks, however, and we’ve got some killer new fiction lined up to get things going again.
We’re also on the lookout for more stories – or poems, if they’re suitably kick-ass – for our blogzine. It’s hoped that the best of these will provide the basis of our next anthology, which we’re hoping to assemble some time in 2012.
